Another busy week in the PLW studios, with all hands on deck to get some samples of our artists ready for Paul and Ash’s trip to Europe and America.
We hope to send the guys off with tasters from Adam Martin, Trinity, Art of Wor, and Craig Heath.
Ash isn’t looking forward to the flight, as he can’t stop thinking about how far up you are in a 747, and how long it takes to fall out of the sky if something breaks... We told him he should be more concerned about fitting all the duty free booze into his carry on!
In the meantime, we have ‘July Days’ down at The Base with Phil and Nige, doing their 2nd 5 track EP. They are still in the tracking stage but everything is on target for the independent launch on December 6 – Stay tuned for details on the venue.
German Silva has been back to PLW finishing his track ‘Tu Mentira’. German went into the Base with Phil to track live strings, and then they moved into Studio 3 (Amek Room) for mixing. A great result was achieved, and everyone is hoping the song does well for German.
Paul is getting very close to finishing Craig Heath’s album, and it’s a Big Guitar Record! Many thanks to the all the players we’ve had on the project, especially Kristian Viadkovic, Gav Ford and Jeff Sheppard. Keep an eye out for the launch party with Craig Heath and Sonic Temple performing the album.
Art Of Wor have just begun production on a film clip for the upcoming release of ‘Why’. Daniela Martin is tackling the production and the idea is to have a gritty, very real feeling clip that gets up close and personal. It’ll be shot in an empty building site with hand-held cameras and should be a great visual element to a killer track.
Further to Art Of Wor – the boys and Phil are about to start mixing the first half of the album. Vic and Nige have worked their way through the vocal edits and the ‘temp mixes’ already sound huge. We think it’s one of the best Rock albums to come out of Australia in quite some time!
Battle of the Bands (Bayside) Winners ‘Red Light Runners’ are in the Base this coming week recording one of their tunes, and we hope the boys do well in their musical future.
Adam Martin and James Roche have made some more progress with his debut album – James has brought his formidable skills to the project and has really capitalised on Adam’s unique sound. Keep an eye on
Adam’s myspace for a little sneak peak of the record!
Goodbyemotel spent a day at the Base with Phil and producer Kalju Tonuma recording the result of the last 2 weeks pre-production, and as preparation for the tracking of the album. It was a fun and productive session, with 12 songs recorded ‘live’ from the studio and everyone is really happy with the way the record is taking shape.
Don't forget the next PLW Live event is coming up on November 11, at Veludo’s in St Kilda. We all hope to see you there!
